This design was created to explore the effects of pearlized marker pens in combination with different thickness fine-liners to create different visual weights to the patterns.

Early dragon design, this early pen and ink study was actually drawn on the cardboard back page of a sketch-book after running out of paper on a flight!

Series of abstract oil/stretched canvas paintings to be displayed together. This series was inspired by the 3rd painting from the left, which used the twisted centre of a sea-shell as a starting point, painted in the style of Georgia O’Keefe. The concept was then further developed in each direction (darker and lighter) to increase the abstraction and translate the shape in different ways.

This design was created in reverse to the usual method, using a light colour to form the structure (light pink) of the design, and darker colours afterwards to build up the patterns and elements, inspired by Moroccan and North African elements.
